During the day you will be stressing about what to make for dinner tonight, and what about that bill that has not been paid…

Most people live life in a daily routine, and that means some of the stress you suffer is within that routine, so you need to write down what is stressing you during the morning, the day and in the evening, and control these things causing you all the stress.

  • You must prioritize your time by rating each of the daily tasks by their importance and urgency for attention. Redirect your time into those activities that are important, enjoyable and meaningful to you.
  • Where it comes to appointments and work you should manage your commitments by over- or under committing to them and avoid committing time to what is not important.
  • You must Deal with procrastination firmly by using a day and month planners and you can break large projects up into smaller tasks, and set short-term deadlines to get them done.

Build Up Effective Coping Strategies for Stress Management!

It is very important that you identify and enhance your coping strategies. When something stresses you out analyze how you feel at the time, and then record how you coped with the situation in a diary. When you do this you will be able to make new ways to cope with the same stressful situation in future in a better way as well.

Some behaviours and lifestyle choices in your life will affect your stress level and when you can identify these simply use a workaround to manage your stress for these.

Life choices may not cause stress directly but can interfere with how your body relieves stress. Here are tips:

  • Make sure that you get enough sleep every night because at this time your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping and often in dreams.
  • You must always eat a balanced diet for building up a strong immune system which helps cope with stress.
  • Try to get basic and moderate exercise throughout the week even if it is walking or taking the stairs at work instead of the elevators or lifts.
  • You must limit your consumption of alcohol and try and not smoke. 

Your Social and Family Support Base.

Your social support and family support base is a major factor in how you will experience and cope with stress. Social support is the positive support from work colleagues, from family, friends, and the community.

This gives you gratitude and the knowledge that you are cared for, loved, thought of, and valued in society. Research has proven that a strong relationship between social support and better mental and physical health is true and if you don’t have that support getting a pet does help.

 Changing Thought Patterns.

Negative news you see every day and bad events in your life make you think negative thoughts, and experience fear for your own situation. Negative events can trigger feelings of insecurity, anxiety, depression anger, guilt, and even thoughts of being worthless.

Negative emotions will trigger the body’s stress, fight or flight responses just as an actual threat does. Dealing with any of these negative thoughts will help reduce stress.

Problem-solving and realizing the event will not affect you directly helps you identify these stressful events and when you realize this you will learn to manage stress from these negative events. Even Freelance writers like me can get stressed from our careers. This even happens while I am writing this article but sitting most of the time in front of a computer is stressful enough.

My stress management? I take regular breaks, play games, walk a little or play with my dogs all which refresh me to tackle the next task.
